Moat House

Successfully navigating Moat House extensions.

Description

Refurbishment and extension of Grade II listed house on a scheduled moated site.

Beacon were involved from the outset. Acting as project managers we commissioned a bat survey and archaeological investigation, necessary prior to any development being proposed. We also produced the Heritage and Planning Statements and submitted applications.

We were able to show that a rear extension was a recent rebuild of a larger structure thereby, securing permission for an enlarged kitchen.

We were also able to demonstrate that by rationalising the outbuildings the setting and access to the main house could be improved. Consent was also granted for a detached double garage with attic space.

Outcome

Three Scheduled Ancient Monument consents secured together with planning permission and listed building consent.
