Beacon Planning provided heritage consultancy services for the refurbishment of the Drake and Nelson Boarding Houses at the school.

Beacon Planning were asked to provide heritage and planning advice for the refurbishment of two of the Grade II listed boarding houses at the school. The works seek to restore the original day room spaces within the boarding houses for use as study areas for the students.

The Royal Hospital School was established in Greenwich but moved to Holbrook in 1933. The school was designed by the architects Buckland and Heywood. The architectural importance of the school was recognised in its listing at Grade II* with many of the other buildings, such as the boarding and tutor houses, being listed at Grade II.

We look forward to continuing our involvement with the school.
