Beacon appointed to produce Clare Castle Country Park CMP
21 April 2017 | Posted by Sophie Hetherington

Beacon Planning have been instructed to produce a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) to support a bid for HLF funding by the Trustees of Clare Castle Country Park.

Clare Castle Country Park is a unique site, where the remains of a motte and bailey castle are juxtaposed against a group of buildings which originally comprised a Victorian railway station. These structures are surrounded by open green spaces, moats, woodland and fish ponds, creating a diverse habitat for local flora and fauna.

The Trustees of Clare Castle Country Park have already secured an initial HLF grant to support consultation work which is moving the project into its next phase. As part of a Phase 2 bid for Heritage Lottery Funding, the Trustees of the park have appointed Beacon Planning to produce a CMP supporting their bid. This document will provide guidance on managing heritage within the site while the works to renovate and maintain the park are undertaken, and will establish policies for managing the site after the work is complete.

The team at Beacon are proud to be associated with this community-led project, and look forward to seeing this project reach completion.
