Beacon Turns Nine!

The past weekend saw Beacon Planning celebrate the company’s ninth year of growth and success.

Over the weekend of March 10-12, Beacon celebrated its ninth anniversary with a company trip to Ludlow. The administrative, planning and heritage teams came together for a weekend away to the historic Shropshire town, staying in a converted C19 schoolhouse which now serves as the Ludlow Mascall Centre.

On Saturday, the group visited Blists Hill Victorian Town, one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge museums. After the novelty of exchanging modern currency for farthings and shillings, the team indulged in Victorian sweets and treats, including an informative trip to the chandlers and printers. Some of our team even channelled their inner Victorian with a photograph in full fancy dress!

Following the trip to Blists Hill, we returned to Ludlow for a jazz performance at The Square. The day then concluded with a celebratory meal at Ludlow’s Grade I listed Feathers Hotel, which has an ornate timber frontage dating from the 1600s. The team were regaled with ghost stories by a staff member but, although we kept a careful eye out for a ghost in turquoise, there were no paranormal sightings to be had.

A leisurely Sunday saw the team exploring the historic core of Ludlow, with a walking tour from a local historian, followed by some free time to take in the local market and independent shops of the area.

This year, our company has continued to grow, and we have seen the impact of this in the size and number of projects we have taken on. As we continue to increase our size and scope, we pride ourselves on also maintaining the high standards which the company established in its earlier years.
