New gallery for King's Lynn opening soon!
13 July 2016 | Posted by Joanna Burton

Beacon are pleased to have assisted new gallery owner Dr Veronica Sekules in securing planning permission for a new art gallery in historic King's Lynn.

The building is located opposite the Grade I listed Custom House, one of Norfolk's finest buildings set within the historic core of King's Lynn as recognised by its conservation area designation.

The extension of the building upwards had proved problematic in planning terms with regards to its impact on these designated heritage assets. Beacon worked with the scheme's architect, Antony Hudson, to come up with revised design solutions and liaised with Historic England and King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council officers to arrive at a compromise solution satisfactory to all stakeholders.

The scheme is well progressed with an opening exhibition launching on 16 July - we look forward to visiting and wish the new venture every success!
