Two storey rear extension to Listed Building in rural location.

Beacon Planning Ltd have obtained Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for demolition of a series of out buildings and their replacement with a two storey rear extension. The works enable a very steep modern stair case to be removed and the circulation within the building to be improved. The former farmhouse contains the remains of a C16 timber frame, which shows the structure was always floored rather than having being built as an open hall. The fabric of the building has been much altered over time and important elements lost, with the former parlour end suffering a bad fire; a fourth bay being added in the late C18 and the building being brick clad and totally re-roofed in the C19. The proposals were shown to preserve and enhance the building. The owners have managed to secure the adjacent site thus reuniting the farmhouse and adjacent farm buildings in the same ownership. Work to convert and reinstate these structures is now being developed with continued assistance from Beacon Planning Ltd.
