PLANNING AND LISTED BUILDING CONSENT APPEALS UPHELD IN MAIDSTONE
16 July 2014 | Posted by Joanna Burton

The Planning Inspectorate has upheld two appeals for planning and listed building consent for the conversion of a Grade II listed factory in Maidstone.
The factory building is the earliest surviving example by Wallis, Gilbert and Partners but is currently redundant and in need of extensive repair work. The Inspector agreed with Beacon Planning's expert heritage witness Joanna Burton acting for the appellants that the proposals caused less than substantial harm and that this was outweighed by securing the only and therefore optimum viable use of the building.
