BEACON ROLE ON CAMBRIDGE'S NEW MUSEUMS SITE CAMPUS REDEVELOPMENT

Beacon Planning has been named as part of the project team advising on proposals for the redevelopment of the University of Cambridge's New Museums Site on Pembroke Street in the city.

Earlier this year, the Cambridge-based planning consultancy was appointed by the University of Cambridge's Estate Management to prepare a heritage statement in support of proposals for the refurbishment of the Arup Building, one of the buildings on the New Museums Site.

Planning permission for this scheme was gained last month (16 July). Now Beacon Planning will also advise as the heritage planning consultant on plans for the redevelopment of the main site which, as one of the key campuses of the University, will see many of the departments currently based there move to the West Cambridge campus on which construction is now under way.
