A new welcome for the National Trust at Wimpole Hall
9 February 2018 | Posted by Jenny Page

Wimpole Hall is one of the most popular National Trust properties in the country. The current parking arrangements fall far short of what is needed with much of the space becoming a muddy field in wet weather. The Trust wanted to improve their visitor arrival experience by having high quality year round facilities.

The scheme was designed by Caroe Architecture and Beacon provided specialist planning and heritage advice. The project was complex and challenging as the Hall and Gardens are listed Grade I; there is also a roman settlement in the grounds and a wealth of wildlife. The final scheme relocates the parking outside the historic parkland together with a new visitor centre. Planning permission was granted in January 2018 and work is due to start this year.
