Beacon goes ‘Back to the Future’
1 October 2017 | Posted by Joanna Burton

Beacon Planning are proud sponsors of the IHBC London Branch annual event which this year will celebrate the 50th anniversary of conservation area designation.

In their 50th year, this one-day conference to be held on 3rd October 2017 seeks to reflect upon the achievements and successes of conservation area designation as well as some of the lessons learned to consider how we might best manage these heritage assets in the future.

The IHBC London branch have prepared what promises to be an impressive and stimulating programme, with delegates to hear from: David McDonald, the IHBC President; Duncan McCallum, Policy Director at Historic England; Nicholas Boys Smith of Create Streets; Harriet Bell, Heritage Officer at the London Borough of Enfield; and John Pendlebury, Professor of Urban Conservation at Newcastle University. They will also be able to take in the Grade I Listed Royal College of Physicians by Sir Denys Lasdun which provides the venue for the day.

Beacon Planning is delighted to be sponsoring the conference as part of its ongoing commitment to support the heritage sector and the IHBC as the professional body for building conservation practitioners. Three delegates from Beacon’s heritage team are looking forward to attending, including Director Dr Jon Burgess.
